The Department of Transportation have ordered a tour bus company involved in a Southern California tour bus crash to cease operating immediately due to its buses not being properly maintained and its drivers unqualified.
On Friday, Scapadas Magincas, LLC, based in Naitonal City, California, were ordered by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to stop operations because they posed an imminent hazard to public safety following a February 3 accident which left 8 dead and more than 40 injured.
During a post-crash inspections of the company’s buses, investigators found multiple mechanical safety violations and stated that the company failed to regularly inspect their vehicles or take the necessary action to remedy its safety management deficiencies.
