Tour Bus Crash at Disney, Orlando, Florida -- The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a Disney tour bus crash involving two tour buses on Vista Boulevard near World Drive, near the Disney Epcot Center in Orlando, Florida.
Numerous tour bus passengers are reported injured according to Florida Highway Patrol. The Florida Highway Patrol said a Walt Disney World bus and a charter bus were involved in a rear-end collision leading to the injuries. Emergency management said the driver of the Disney bus was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center. Five people are reported injured from the Tuesday crash.
Given that this is reported as a rear-end collision and the Disney bus driver is the most serious injury (obviously sitting in the front) , it appears the Disney driver was at fault for the crash. There were 20 guests in all aboard the Disney Bus with only the driver aboard the Mears bus.
This is yet another in a string of crash accidents that have been affecting the Walt Disney World transportation system, including several bus accidents with injuries and the terrible monorail accident that resulted in a cast members death. WDW Transportation has been under scrutiny given the recent rash of injury accidents, and many insiders have alleged that Disney is cutting corners on transportation safety.
