Cybersquatting and Domain Name Dispute Update: Judge Tells Gillece To Stop Cybersquatting - Pittsburgh-Area Plumber Must Stop Internet Redirection
Federal judge orders habitual cybersquatter, Gillece Services, to stop cybersquatting on its competitors. Gillece Services is a plumbing, heating, cooling and electrical service company based in Pittsburgh.
Gillece is accussed of cybersquatting on its competitors' names through the registration of hundreds of domain names "identical or confusingly similar" to the names of its competitors. It is unclear whether Gillece Plumbing and Heating Inc. must pay damages to its competitor Fagnelli Plumbing Co for registering the domain name fagnelli.com, and redirecting traffic to its own website. Art Simqu, of Simqu Electric, also claims his company has fallen victim of Gillece's cybersquatting.
